It depends: As long as you can see well with glasses or contacts, you will not go blind. However, if your glasses prescription is still changing, that is unusual at age 46-- i would see an ophthalmologist to find out why. You may have pathologic myopia or possibly keratoconus. Sometimes surgery can be helpful for someone with very high myopia (nearsightedness).
