Viral : Runny nose and phlegmy cough are irritating the back of his throat causing him to vomit out the mucus after a coughing spell and decreased his appetite. Need plenty of fluids , rest and give him a combination of decongestant , histamine/cough medicine eg pediacare , robitussin, (guaifenesin) brand. If no better or worsening condition, take your child to the doctor.
