A 30-year-old female asked:
It is very important to state the age of your son here. Approach of treatment may be different depending on the severity, frequency and amount of vomitus.Normally, nothing by mouth for 4 hours then small frequent feedings in increments as tolerated. To ER if lethargic, irritable , persistent vomiting.
A 31-year-old male asked:
There are no approved medications for 1 month old babies. Only supportive treatments - saline solution, suctioning , humidifier, steaming up the bathroom. Chest percussion to loosen up chest congestion. See peds if having trouble breathing , not eating , irritable and not as playful.
A 33-year-old female asked:
Don’t feed your baby for 4 hours. Observe if vomiting stops. At this time, you can try feeding small frequent amounts of pedialyte such as 5- 10 ml every 5-10 minutes, gradually increase by increments of 5 till 30 ml. Increase interval to 30 minutes and so on. If your baby continues to vomit within that 4 hours , do take your baby to the ER, may need IV fluid for possible dehydration.
