Advanced prostate cancer with bone metastasis prognosis?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Edward Cherullo
23 years experience in Urology
Depends: If the prostate cancer is still responsive to androgen deprivation therapy (adt), which is chemical elimination of testosterone, the patient might have many many years of quality life. If there are bone metastasis and the disease is no longer treatable by adt, life expectancy with adjunctive chemotherapy is 18 - 24 months typically.
