Poor: Metastatic prostate cancer, like other disseminated cancers has poor prognosis. However quality of life can be improved through proper pain managment and hormonal/chemo/radiation therapy.

Depends: It depends on the biology of the prostate cancer. It is very treatable, although incurable. Several medications are available to treat your disease- including anti androgen blocker, chemotherapy ( docetaxel, jevtana), newer medication- abiraterone, immunotherapy -provenge vaccine, newer med- mdv3100 is going to be approved soon. Radiation as needed for bony pain, zometa/xgeva also needed. D/w md.
