No: It is not normal to have cataracts at a young age, however it is possible. Usually there is a specific cause or reason.

No: Typical cataracts develop over a long period of time, usually reducing vision ages of 60's and above. Medications, trauma, diabetes are some causes of cataract development at a young age.

Not uncommon: Cataracts (white lens change): most often due to or made worse by (most common first): aging, genetics predisposition, excessive sun exposure, smoking, diabetes, steroids, previous trauma, inflammation, infection in the eye causing inflammation; previous intraocular eye surgery; other genetic issues; can be congenital.
