Possibly okay: If its pain that lasts only briefly, even if very intense it is okay and should fade away by 12 months. If pain has redness or drainage, lump at scar that means visit to your surgeon.

It's all relative: This depends on how much pain you consider as alot. People have different tolerance for pain and some may take longer than others to recover. It also depends on whether you had mesh placed. It can take up to 6 months for the mesh to settle in, and the scarring from that may cause some pain. If the pain is something that is out of the ordinary for you, then you should follow up with your surgeon.
