Pain is self limited: Even though the lain is severe the cause is benign. When the cyst ruptures, the swelling will decrease and the pain will lessen. Please call your doctor to report the severe pain. They will be able to help. Later, after your period if cysts persist your gyn can help prevent future episodes.

Don't understand: Your doctor's thinking as you have now gone through 2 menstrual cycles. Get another opinion. May need to have a diagnostic laparoscopy and possibly surgery.
