Seek Options: It's premature to schedule hysterectomy (removal of uterus) for a solid 6 cm ovarian mass. It may be benign (teratoma, cystadenoma, endometrioma, etc) versus malignant. Ultrasound can give info to grade these risks (nodules, septations types, etc) but cannot diagnose cancer. In fact, only tissue bx can DX cancer. Consider ovarian cystectomy vs oophorectomy, lsc vs open, & discuss with your gyn.
