Yes: Stool softeners like colace (docusate sodium) or surfak usually help. Citalopram is not known for causing problems with constipation, but it is possible. I would discuss your concerns with your doctor, especially if the constipation is a significant change for you. You may have something else going on which could benefit from some medical attention.
