Should be fine...: We often perform liposuction on residual fat collections after the first procedure. The fat is usually more fibrous because of scarring from the first procedure, so something to break up the fat (like ultrasonic liposuction) done before conventional liposuction is often helpful in these secondary cases.

Depends: On where the problem is & how much scarring is left from previous procedures. Liposuction uses a hollow wand to vacuum fat from under the skin. If remaining love handles are from lax muscle or skin more liposuction will do little. If the remaining fat was missed or reaccumulated due to weight gain then another round may help. If it is scarred in then ultrasonic or laser liposuction may be option.

Depends...: If the original procedure was done well, the second time might be less than exciting results-wise.

Depends.: Whether or not you are a good candidate for a “second round” of liposuction surgery will depend on your physical examination, specifically the amount of residual adipose tissue present and the quality of the overlying skin elasticity. Overdoing liposuctioning surgery may leave you with skin contour irregularities, unsatisfactory skin redraping, and an overall unsatisfactory result.

Can be very....: Additional liposuction can be very effective if it targets specific pockets of fat. In many cases it can be done under local anesthetic with a mild sedative. However, in the flank area what can look like fat can also be loose skin. This is especially true in men. My best advice? Return to your plastic surgeon and ask his opinion as to what your options may be.
