I am training for marathon. i was diagnosed with achilles tendonitis on the right leg. its been two weeks and my right leg is better but now i have it in my left leg. when to call off the race?

See Podiatrist : For evaluation. Perhaps there is a simple reason why this is occurring and it can be treated.When is marathon? If it is a long tme away, wait until it is evaluated.

Depends when : The marathon is. Why not treat the left the same way you did the right. Maybe, in 2 weeks you will be better.

Up to you: Achilles tendonitis is an overuse injury. Usually related to impatience or overtraining. Often occurs when attempting too fast pace/ for too long a distance, or sudden terrain change. Regardless, the best cure is rest and ice. Especially rest. I would recommend rethinking the race and focus on getting fully recovered. Figure out why this occurred and correct it. Lots of races out there.

Rest: Would strongly suggest resting the tendon and seeking treatment for this sooner rather than later. I have been dealing with this condition myself for over five years, which was refractory to stretches, heel lifts, and eccentric strengthening. Newer treatments including ultrasounded guided tenotomy & prp really helped me. People are also now using stem cell treatments.
