Achilles and Cipro (ciprofloxacin): Not everyone aggravates their achilles while on cipro, (ciprofloxacin) but i would personally be cautious. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) can cause problems for 2 weeks longer than you are on it, so i would avoid strenuous activity for 2 weeks after stopping it. Then begin your activities gradually. Achilles tendinitis: First avoid cipro (ciprofloxacin). Tendinitis refers to an acute condition lasting less than 6 weeks. Treatments include relative rest, antiinflammatory meds, icing, then progressive strengthening prior to returning to full activity. If present for greater than 6 weeks represents tendinosis (disease of the tendon). Txment is an eccentric loading program, small heel lift, or regenerative injections.

Stretching: Frequent stretching of the tendon is helpful. There is some concerns with quinalones and tendon ruptures. You might be better off with a different antibiotic if you have an infection.
