The Achilles tendon is the largest and strongest tendon in our body. Injuries are difficult to recover from, since we still walk while injured. It may take months to slowly recover, which is variable and inconsistent. After the initial injury, you want to use heat to increase the blood circulation and advance healing. Inducing self pain reduction with the Doctor Reflex will help. Good luck.
