Esophagitis: Sounds like you have an inflammation of your esophagus. This will often give you this sensation. Do you have any trouble swallowing, does food get stuck? Evaluation is warranted to see what is going on.

Get evaluation.: Depending on your age, underlying overall health, any pre-existiing GI or esophageal disorders, medications you are on, and other factors, you may need some fairly simple testing and treatment. You could have issues that could be correctable if diagnosed now. You may need to have a look down the throat or swallowing x-rays. Medications may remedy this. See your pcp and or a GI specialist.
