Good treatment : Certainly depends on the injury and when it happened. Recent injuries should be evaluated by a plastic surgeon or orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery. Proper treatment and good physical therapy are a must. I'd still see a hand specialist if you have an old injury and the hand is nor working to your satisfaction.

Depends: You must first determined what is the problem. Once that is done then you treat. If not resolved in a couple of days then i would see a hand surgeon.
