Four weeks back, i have a big toe injury and fracture. i got a minor surgery done at blacktown hospital in sydney. surgeon took the nail off, stitched, put the original nail back, stitched the nail again and did the bandage. is that the correct proc?

It is from an older school of thought about the nail bed, as some do OK without approximation (/stitches); however some more severe impacts/crush injuries may benefit. Cannot say 100% without having seen it at the time of injury, but it was not unheard of care. Hopefully it is healing up and new nail growing.
