A member asked:

I have what the doctor said is a cyst on my ovary. if it would have showed signs of malignancy the radiologist would have stated that on report and the emergency room doctor would have explained that to me , right?

Yes: Most radiologists will be able to distinguish between several of the common cysts (follicular and luteal) from other types of cysts. During the normal menstrual cycle the egg is surrounded by a follicle which bursts and releases the egg into the abdominal space between the ovary and fallopian tube. So cysts are very common and expected. Sometimes they don't disappear after egg release.

Probably: Cysts are common on the ovary. In addition, typically there are other findings that make one consider a malignancy. I would not be overly concerned. Hope this helps.
