Can the intestines be in the wrong place and need to be surgicaly put back in the right place?

Malrotation...: ...Is a condition where the intestines do not rotate normally in fetal life. This may lead to bowel obstructions in childhood, or, less likely, in adulthood. Surgical rx requires unkinking the intestine and fixing it to prevent recurrence. This should not be confused with bowel obstructions due to adhesions from prior surgery, which is much more common.

Yes.: Some people are born with variants of "malrotation". This is when the small bowels don't "land" in the right spot during fetal development. Other times the large bowel can twist....What we call a "volvulus", or "torsion".
