Treat constipation: First try treatment for constipation, such as prune juice or senna tablets. Bowels backed up at age 61 can be sign of colon cancer. Have you had a normal colonoscopy before? Any family history of colon cancer. If the answers are yes/no, then OK to just try to work on constipation.
