A member asked:

Why couldn't people have a bunch of false individual teeth implanted instead of having a whole denture?

You can: You can get multiple implants to replace missing teeth. The limiting factor is that it's very expensive. Alternatively, a denture is relatively inexpensive. Implants are a wonderful alternative to dentures, and function and feel more like real teeth. Implants that retain the denture are also an option.

They can: It is entirely possible to do individual implant supported crowns throughout the entire mouth. The biggest deterrent is the cost.

They can !: Implant treatment can replace an entire arch (jaw) of teeth. We do this at our dental implant center with as few as 4 properly placed implants. Some patients require a few more, but not as many as there are missing teeth. Look up teeth-in-a-day and all-on-4. You will be amazed.

Maybe you can: Having missing teeth replaced by dental implants instead of a removable denture depends upon the amount of bone available. Ask your prosthodontist for an examination and consultation.
