Possibly: Sometimes the remaining bone is fine for an implant. Many times the bone has regressed and a bone graft would be required. See an oral surgeon who can with examination and x-rays determine if you need a bone graft before dental implants.

Great idea: In case that there's not enough bone, new techniques and materials are available to regenerate the amount of bone needed to successfully implants placement. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that teeth might slip and they should last a lifetime. Good luck.

Possibly: After extraction of a tooth, the bone starts to resorb. The longer the waiting period before replacement, the more the bone will resorb. Depending on many factors, a bone graft may be needed to restore the lost bone. After a certain period of healing, an implant can then be placed followed by a restoration. Your dentist can evaluate the amount of bone present and determine if grafting is needed.

Bone: If bone has resorbed it can be replaced with a procedure called ridge augmentation. See your Dentist for an examination and appropriate x-rays needed to answer your question.
