Check-up: How high is fever? What colors is drainage from nose? There could be many causes. Illness in children is most likely a virus and symptomatic control is usually all that is needed. I would advise you to a make an appointment with his pediatrician if you are concerned.

Observe: Clear runny nose with a fever usually means viral infection.Treat fever and runny nose. If runny nose persist beyond 7-10 days with persistent fever, your child will need to be seen for possible bacterial infection - sinus, ear, throat , overlapping pneumonia etc.Prompt medical treatment, if at any time his condition has worsened!
