My 7 year old son has symptoms of a cold. coughing, running nose, mild fever, etc. i gave him 15 ml of childrens nyquil and within five minutes he began vomiting. i wont be giving him any more. is this a common side effect? should i be concerned?

Influenza can involve coughing, runny nose, mild fever and vomiting. NYquil is not known for causing vomiting, but it may be that your son's illness was already priming him for a sensitive stomach. The best treatment for children who are ill with these symptoms is humidification and saline drops.
