Symptom of infection: Fever, runny nose, cough, sore throat, decreased appetite, increased sleeping, vomiting, diarrhea and rash are all some of the symptoms that children get when they have an infection. Most of the time these illnesses are viral in nature and have to resolve on their own without medication. Bacterial infections in children are generally more concerning and are promptly treated with antibiotics.

Most likely OK: This sounds like an upper respiratory infection, which commonly affect children. It should pass in 3-5 days. Treat fevers with tylenol (acetaminophen). If he develops uncontrollable vomiting, stops responding, or does not get better, call your doctor. Hope this helps!
