Try BagBalm: Depending on the severity of the eczema one of the best lotions to use is bagbalm. It is a lanolin based ointment with a tiny amount of coal tar and works well on eczema and psoriasis, and dry skin in general. Available in a green can at any pharmacy or grocery store.

Moisturing Cream!: I would recommend using mild soaps for bathing, dove is the best. Generous application of a moisturizing cream is extremely important. I like cetaphil cream the best. Not lotion, the cream! this should be applied after showering when skin is still moist, and then twice daily as well. Otc antihistamines like zyrtec (cetirizine) can help with the itching. For flares, you may need a prescription cream also.
