No.: I would use only topical hydrocortisone on the baby's face.

Dr. Frey is correct. Also, do not use steroids on face for more than 7 days or for more than 10 days on rest of body to avoid complications. Do not use on sores, open wounds or infected sores/cuts..

Not at 0.5%: This is a bit strong for the face (can cause skin thinning and blanching). 0.1% hydrocortisone or 0.05% Desonide is milder better for the face. Be sure to moisturize aggressively (moisturizers and/or wet wraps should have been discussed) and to be aggressive in preventing skin infection. Consider a virtual consult if you have questions. Eczema is very treatable with the right tools!
