Good idea: Global delay is typically an infant diagnosis. Unless there are progressive nutritional risks, aggressive therapy programs for weight bearing, movement, cognitive stimulation and functional activities on 5-7 day a week basis have merit. Unfortunately this is not a medical benefit and will be expensive. Some families choose 2-3 months a year of such a program and simulate it at home afterward.

Good health habits: Global delay just describes overall slow development. For children learning to walk, dress themselves, feed themselves, toilet themselves, behave properly in public, communicate effectively, all take effort and may benefit from therapy. Practical and appropriate health habits are important for all children. Adapt therapy to the child to focus on independence skills and good health habits.
