Many alternatives: Counseling may really help. Exercise often helps.There are many natural therapies like same, st. John's wort, 5-htp & dlpa that are as effective as meds. Adding fish oil to meds often helps.Classical homeopathy can be very effective. Vitamin & mineral deficiencies may cause depression.Sometimes food allergies can cause depression- i had a patient not helped by any meds but avoiding gluten cured her.
