Antibiotic choice: Clindamycin is a choice for patients allergic to penicillin drugs such as amoxicillin.
Dr. Harvey Shiffman

Better alternatives: Climdsmycin affects the way the bowel breaks down methotrexate, which will cause it to build up. Contact your physician to get an alternative antibiotic to avoid issues.

Maybe: You don't necessarily need an antibiotic if you are getting a root canal. In root canal cases where the pulp is not infected, you do not need an antibiotic. This would be determined by your endodontist. If you are determined to need an antibiotic, Clindamycin would be the correct answer.
