What is the best way to reduce swelling from dental abscess?

See a dentist: The best way is to take care of the problem causing the abcess with either an extraction or root canal. Some times the abcess can be incised and allowed to drain which helps the healing progress much faster. To help with the symptoms, antibiotics, ice pack and then get to your dentist.

Treat the infection.: The only permanent treatment is usually root canal therapy or tooth removal. Temporarily antibiotics can help.

Root Canal Treatment: There are only 2 permanent ways to treat a dental abscess. If the tooth can be treated so that it will last a long time, then traditional root canal treatment is needed to remove the infection from the tooth's inside. If the tooth is so damaged that it can't be restored for long-term use, then it should be removed. Antibiotics will only help for a very short time. There's nothing else you can do.
