Could be.: If it wasn't rough before, you may have worn through or broken some of the material on the crown. You should definitely have that looked at by your dentist.

Possibly: If the tooth feels rough, it could be from clenching or grinding which might have chipped the tooth. If the crown or cap was recently placed, it would be some of the residual cement or it could be from calculus (tartar) buildup.

Fracrured porcelian: You have possiblly fractured the porcelain of the crown and may need to see a dentist to either bar the crown re done or some sort or repair although re sticking porcelain back on isn't possible so he or she may reccomend a new crown.
