Sore tongue: There are many causes of what you describe. It sounds like a combination of normal or inflamed papilla, scalloped tongue and perhaps some other issue that needs to be treated. It requires that you actually see a dentist to evaluate and diagnose these conditions, and treat accordingly if warranted.
