About

Bio

I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from New York University and is licensed to practice in both New York and California. I also received advanced clinical and didactic training by completing a General Practice residency at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto. I grew up in the Bay Area and went to school in Cupertino and earned my B.S. degree from U.C. Berkeley in Engineering. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters.

Specialties
Doctors may have more than one area of specialty interest. Board certification in a specialty area means the doctor has completed formal training and has practice experience in that specialty, and has passed the certification examination from the corresponding accredited medical specialty board.

See your dentist: It could be that the gums are infected or have not healed properly after the extractions. Another possibility is that there could be a residual root in the gums. You should see your dentist to have it checked out and they may need to take a radiograph (x-ray).

Depends on the tooth: If you are looking at the front 4 teeth (incisors), the adult tooth will usually have little ridges on the edge, called mamelons which aid in eruption of the adult teeth. For the adult canines, the angled part of the tooth that makes the point is shorter on the side towards the front teeth and longer on the other side. The baby canines will be opposite. Generally baby teeth are whiter in color.

Naturally missing: Some people are naturally missing some teeth while some people will actually have additional teeth. If the baby upper canines become loose and fall out you can either get dental implants or a bridge to replace them, assuming your adjacent teeth are good support teeth.
