No, terrible: Visine is a topical decongestant. It will shrink blood vessels which in turn will improve nasal airflow temporarily however the nose will quickly become addicted to this medication and before long the nose will have no airflow at all unless using it. Stay away from it.

Why?: Likely would help, but not intended to be used this way. There may be serious side effects through the sniffing & swallowing. Why not try afrin nasal spray, as directed, for your nasal congestion. This agent has a very effective topical decongestant (oxymetazoline) and is specific for nasal use. The vasoconstrictor effect of tetrahyrozoline found in visine is not to be used naslly or orally.

Congestion: Perhaps saline nasal spray or an allergy medicine such as Claritin if you have allergies. Visine is best for the eyes, although it does have preservatives that can irritate the eyes.

Visine : Visine is a vasoconstrictor which may inadvertently relieve nasal congestion, but there are other products that are more reliable a designed for nasal congestion. Please see a physician if you need a nasal decongestant on a regular basis.
