2 weeks: 2 weeks major portion of recovery. Wound healing may take longer. Flying ok 1 week after surgery. Make sure u get up every hour on flight and walk around.

6 weeks: Although it takes 6 weeks for full strength and healing, most women with clerical jobs are back to work within a week. Flying does not pose a great risk.

2 weeks; moderate: She will probably feel ok after a week but won't be back to "normal" for at least 4 weeks. This may be longer if she has any wound healing issues. Flying may be made more uncomfortable by drains which may or may not be used. If she gets up and walks around every 30 minutes or so during the flight, it will help decrease her risk of forming a blood clot in her leg during the flight.

3 weeks: By three weeks the vast majority of healing will have been accomplished. There are concerns with flying prior to two weeks after and some of these relate to blood clots as well in addition to bleeding and infection.
