Regular schooling: Adhd patients do not need to go to special school. Regular school is fine. Same with adults. They can work at regular jobs.

Accommodations maybe: Adhd patients are usually bright, but they need accommodations to their learning style in school. This may be accomplished through "504" accommodations or an iep. This usually requires the intervention of child study team or equivalent. The need for these accommodations should be discussed with your doctor.

Weighing in: Section 504 of the ameeican rehabilitation act 1973 & the 2004 americans with disabilities act provide accomodations for children with adhd with a variety of classroom modifications listed on chadd.Org. Multimodal treatment of adhd-medications+behavioral therapy+environmental modifications also includes teaching the child about adhd so he can "own" it as his problem, but not his fault.
