Depends on...: Depending upon child's response to Strattera (Atomoxetine), his/her daily dose can be given once in the morning or divided in two doses and given in a.m. and late afternoon/eve. If desired beneficial effect wears off in late afternoon or evening, 2-dose schedule will be the choice.

Any time: Strattera takes several days to build up in the blood stream and several days to wear off. The up side to this is that there really aren't any peaks or valleys in terms of effectiveness. That being said, you can take the medicine at whatever time of day is easiest for you. If the medication causes stomach upset, then you can split the dose morning and night.

Medication for ADHD: Each child will respond individually, but the timing of the medication should be taken very seriously, and administered consistently to maximize the benefits of the medicine in relation to the peak and trough of the response. I recommend start with a schedule as was provided by your practitioner, and take careful observations about how the child responds relative to homework, sports, meals, +sleep
