Why is it that a history of liver disease significant when looking at pathologies of the blood?

Blood will tell: Chronic liver disease can cause a few blood diseases: -low platelets -anemia -low wbc -prolonged pt leading to bleeding also, hemochromatosis, or iron overload, can lead to liver disease and premature cirrhosis. So there are several reasons why a student of hematology would want to know about blood diseases.
