A member asked:

Does low vitamin d correlate with liver disease? chronic elevated alt and vit d is 12.8. waiting for other blood work to rule out other conditions.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably unrelated: Vitamin d deficiency is very common and if your alt is up long-term i'd look for another cause. This could be anything from drinking to some medication you're taking (even common ibuprofen) to something serious like hemochromatosis, wilson's, autoimmune or viral hepatitis, or antitrypsin deficiency, or just your body's way of asking for more physical exercise.
