Depends: It really depends on your symptoms. If you have primarily UTI symptoms, like frequency and urgency, it is reasonable to treat the UTI only if you have no symptoms of vaginitis, like odor and vaginal discharge. To avoid interaction of medications, he may want to treat you for the UTI first and re evaluate you after to see if you need another treatment for bv. He also may have forgotten.
