What advice would you have for a patient that underwent total hip replacement surgery?

HIP REPLACEMENT: Hip replacement is major surgery and takes many hours to do it. Severe swelling after or is due to traumatic surgery and not well established circulation yet. They have to use crutches, undergo intensive physical therapy to properly walk again.

Follow docs advice: You should follow your doctors advice for recovery and long term followup. It is important to return periodically ( every 2-4 years) to your doctor to have the total hip replacement evaluated by x-ray to make sure it is functioning properly. Otherwise, enjoy your hip with the guidelines you have been provided.
