An undesireable way.: Modern cataract surgery corrects vision by the use of a lens implant and if the power is calculated correctly, and the surgery is performed without complication there may be no need for spectacle lens correction after. To not use a lens implant commits you to using heavy thick aphakic spectacle lens correction with distorted vision and unhappy helpless vision without the glasses on.

No: Not possible to cure cataracts that we know of at this time. Corrective lenses may improve the vision so you may be able to delay the time which you have cataract surgery, but they do not "cure" cataracts.

Only cure is surgery: Not all cataracts require surgery. If best VA is worse than 20/40 or glare is affecting VA, most surgeons prefer to do surgery sooner but depends on pt's sx, pt's risk factors, pt's preferences; also, though no guarantees with any surgery, many patients are less dependent on glasses & even glasses free after surgery which helps many in decision process: eyedoc2020.blogspot.com
