Not really: Cataract develops secondary to the advancement of age, trauma or some medications. You can help to delay it but there is no real cure for it. Uv protective glasses, avoiding trauma to the eye or certain medication and use of antioxidant can help to delay progression.

Answer: While it is possible to have cataract surgery without lens implants - it is virtually never done. Implants are very very safe!
