Hemorrhoid vs cancer: Hemorrhoids can itch, bleed, be painful; sitz baths, increased dietary fiber + water, hemorrhoids med can make them less of a nuisance. Sometimes they form a clot inside the vein, which may need to be removed by doc. Cancer may also cause rectal bleeding, difficulty with bm's. Best to see fp or proctologist (rectal specialist) for exam & whatever tests deemed necessary—sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy/ct.
