EVLT Varicose Veins: Evlt, or endovenous laser therapy, for varicose vein disease is associated with very little discomfort. It is typically done in the doctors office using local anesthetic with xylocaine. Some doctors also utilize Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream, a topical skin anesthetic. It is very well tolerated by patients & takes about 40 minutes. If you are anxious about it, as your doctor for a valium to take just prior.
