Specific test: Specific test for the disease. Pressure at specific points reproduces the pattern of pain. If tender point exam is negative, no fibromyalgia.

Palpation painful: ? what is fibromyalgia (FM) tender point exam. In 1991, a committee of Rheumatologists decided to define a mostly female disorder that was chiefly characterized by chronic widespread pain. Finger pressure on certain anatomical loci until examiner's nail bed blanched was the chosen way to make diagnosis, if 11 of the 18 chosen points were painful with this degree of pressure.
