Motivation & reward: Making goals gives some individuals motivation to accomplish those goals. Some provide rewards for themselves or witness rewards (weight loss, improved confidence/self-esteem, etc.) if reaching those goals. One key is to make these goals realistic based on your age, fitness level and time allotted to reach these goals.
