A member asked:

Had one-time oral sex on hpv positive/immunocompromised (no hiv) woman. she had history of abnormal pap (non cancerous). chances of hpv contraction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV=contact: HPV is a contact infection much like herpes: you get through skin contact with another skin that has active lesions (warts or sores). A woman who has cervical (genital) HPV lesions does not necessarily have oral lesions..if she does, you may get it via oral contact
