Tear injury: It's an avulsion or tear of the skin and bleeding has stopped, simply clean,dry and bandaid the area for several days. If it's a laceration or if it's not possible to stop the bleeding, apply a pressure dressing and head to the hospital emergency room.

Basic First Aid: Our bodies have innate abilities to heal. Blood comes to the area, a scab is formed and a new connection is made. Keep the area clean of dirt. Some vasoline or triple antibiotic ointment and a loose bandaid may be all that is required. If there is still a flap of skin, you can use that as part of the covering. If the tear is very deep that it appears stitches are needed, then proceed.

Clean & close wound: 1. Stop the bleeding with compression. 2.You should gently clean the wound, 3. Close the laceration. The method used will depend on the severity and depth of the wound. You can use bandaids, steristrips or go the doc for sutures if necessary,
